Question: When two of Delhi NCR’s best burger joints open large outlets within 250 metres of each other in the same week, what do you do? Answer: Go Jugheading, The Archie’s way!

The burger baby of the bright young chef couple, Hanisha Singh (of the pulled pork sandwiches fame) and husband Jamsheed Bhote, Chard graduated to a full-fledged restaurant on the first floor of Basant Lok Market a few months ago.

Weeks One and Two were packed, with the high quality, perfectly-grilled burgers selling faster than hot cakes.

Pork remains a Hanisha-Jamsheed favourite with the Choripan being their star offering. This burger consists of a double pork patty, chorizo and bold, meaty flavours. TheOG is their “typical burger”, with a double tenderloin patty, cheese, pickles and bacon. The Southern Fried Fish with avocado, cheese and pickles is another good one to try.

For the vegetarians the perfectly-formed Cruncheese patty with a ghost chilli rub and the Middle Eastern-flavoured Habibi are worth a try.

The chefs focus on flavour and texture at Chard, so be prepared for every experience to be slightly different. But as you eat Chard burgers often, you’ll begin to identify with the smokiness that each bite brings. Just remember the warning: once hooked, you could be 'chard' for life!
