  • 250 gm tuvar dal
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 3 pods of garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 5 cups of water
  • 1 small stick Tej Patta
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 pinch asafetida (hing)
  • 1 stick Cinnamon
  • 2 cloves
  • 1/2 tsp fenugreek seed
  • 1/2 tsp musturd seed (methi)
  • 200 gm lady finger
  • 50 gm cauliflower
  • 50 gm flat beans (guvar)
  • 1 large drum stick
  • 1 potato midium size
  • 2 Kashmiri chilli


Chop tomatoes, garlic & onion and boil it with tuvar dal in 5 cups of water in pressure cooker for half an hour.

Keep out till it gets cool and grind it in mixer-grinder.

Heat oil in a pan, add hing, stick of tej patta, piece of cinnamon stick, cloves, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, chopped garlic and garnish the same and then add the tuvar dal mixture to it & boil.

Cut lady finger, cauliflower, guvar, and potato into small pieces.

Put the same in a pan where the above mixture is being boiled.

Cut the drumstick, remove the skin, soak it and put it in the mixture.

Boil the mixture for 40 minutes.

Finally fry red Kashmiri chillies in oil, garnish the same on the mixture and the sindhi kadhi is ready.
