Coconut Chutney
Ingredients
• 1 cup grated coconut
• 1/2 onion, cut into small pcs
• 2 to 3 green chillies
• 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
• a pinch of mustard seeds
• a pinch of coriander seeds
• a small ball of tamarind
• a few curry leaves
• a small pc of ginger
• 1/4 tsp sugar
• salt to taste
For the tadka
• 1 red chilli • few mustard seeds
• few curry leaves • a pinch of asafoetida
Method
Grind all the ingredients together to form a thick-like paste.
Taste. Add whatever is needed.
For the tadka
In a small pan, heat 2 tsp of sesame or coconut oil. When hot add some mustard seeds. When they splutter add one broken red chilli, a few curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida. Pour the tadka on the chutney and stir well.
