Bathua Raita

Yogurt with bathua leaves

Ingredients

 • 2 cups fresh yogurt

• 1 cup boiled and coarsely ground bathua leaves

• 1/2 tsp dry roasted jeera powder

• 1/2 tsp black salt

• 1/2 tsp crushed black pepper

• pinch red chilli flakes/powder

• salt to taste

Method

Clean and wash the bathua leaves several times to take out all the dirt. Discard any thick or hard stem and boil and grind bathua to a coarse paste. Beat the yogurt until smooth, it should not be lumpy, add bathua, and all the other spices, leaving aside pinch each of jeera and red chilli powder. Mix all well, sprinkle jeera and red chilli powder on top. Serve chilled.
