Zaheer Iqbal, the new sensation in B-town speaks to UpperCrust about his fitness mantra. He also explains how physical and mental health go hand-in-hand for him.

1.   What is your fitness mantra?
Work towards being fit, not looking fit. Live a healthy lifestyle.
 
2. Is mental fitness as important as physical?
Absolutely, you won't see  a significant change in your body no matter how hard you workout if you're not in a correct state of mind. The mind and the body go hand in hand.
 
3. What is your exercise routine like?
It's a mix of weights, cardio and functional training. I always mix up my workouts and don't do the same workout for very long. It's always good to mix it up. I do a large variety of different variations to be able to tap every single muscle in the body.
 
4.   Any particular food you can't resist even when on a diet?
I'm very particular when I'm on my diet but I'd say the food hardest to resist is Biryani, also desserts, I have a major sweet tooth.
 
5.   Do you meditate?
Yes I do. I believe that it's important for an individual to calm their mind especially in today's day and age when we are constantly showered with information from all over the place. I'm a very hyper person by nature and meditation really helps me calm down and focus.
 
6.   Do you have any quick fixes, any herbal remedies, tonics you turn to when low and need a boost?
I usually turn to black coffee for a quick energy boost but that's very rare because I usually follow a very strict diet which provides all the energy I'd need to go about my day.
 
7.   How do you choose to detox after a particularly decadent night?
Coconut water.
 
8.   What do you do to get back in shape quickly?
I usually head to Salman Bhai's farm with my trainer and spend a few days there and train vigorously and follow my diet to the T without any distractions or temptations.
 
9.   The buffed muscle look or the lean toned look?
Personally I prefer the lean toned look especially for myself.
 
10. Who is that one person you think is ultra fit?
