In the heart of South Goa lies Avinash and Tiz Martin's Cavatina Cuchina Grill and Bar, a Spanish translation that refers to 'the best in you'. This unique fine-dine establishment certainly brings out the best in you the minute you enter. In the rural bylanes of Benaulim, en route to Taj Exotica, in a place called Mesmeric Sunsets one enters to shades of beige and black with vibrant picturesque artwork on the walls. Chef Avinash's creativity at work allows you to be enveloped with a feeling of heightened expectations for the magic to follow. He carefully takes the time to explain to his patrons the menu at hand and starts off with the Ahi Tuna Tataki of Japanese influence alongside the Sashimi- thin slices of tuna spiced with wasabi, crusted with pepper and spice served with an avocado salad. The flavours of sweet and spice transports one to another reality. A hot favourite is the A la Mexicana Prawns. The Tempura Crumb-Fried Prawns are stuffed with avocado and cheese and goes very well with another signature dish- Tenderloin Carpaccio with blue cheese crumble, capers and garlic chips. Another must sample is the Balinese Sugarcane Prawns with Sambalolek. It is definitely worth the experience. Do move over to the mains immediately and keep appetite for the chef’s specials. Cavatina's Surf and Turf Skewer- the fish and meats come hanging on a skewer over a plate of seafood pilaf. What is unique is the balance of the tenderloin, chicken breast and tiger prawn suspended above. If you're trying their Steak On Stone, don't forget to sprinkle rock salt on the heated stone, steak lovers take note, this will be your 'waterloo'. Heaven on earth or perhaps you will see mesmeric sunset even after the sun has set. The desserts present themselves with Portuguese-influenced Pastelle de Nata- egg custard tarts along with the hazelnut-infused crème brûlée with almond crumble. This preparation is one to die for. With magic in the ingredients and Avinash and Tiz’s affable personality, a visit here is sure to bring out 'the best in you'.
