Madgane (Chana Dal Payasam)
Ingredients
1/2 cup soaked chana dal
1 cup soaked raw rice
1 cup jaggery
1/2 litre thick coconut milk
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Method
Boil the chana dal till it almost cooked.
Do not overcook it.
Add jaggery and cook till it melts.
Grind rice to a coarse paste.
Add the rice paste to the dal and stir continuously such that no lumps are formed.
Add coconut milk and cardamom powder.
Stir till it thickens like custard.
