Samak Patty with Spicy Guava Salsa

For spicy guava salsa

Ingredients

• 1 fresh guava

• 2 green chillies

• 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

• 1 tsp groundnut oil

• saindha salt, to taste

Method

Wash and dry the fresh guava, then chop it into small cubes (brunoise cut).

In a mixing bowl, add chopped guava, chopped green chilli, lime juice, saindha salt to taste and groundnut oil and mix it well.

Spicy guava salsa is ready.

Serve fresh with samak patty.

For Samak Patty

• 100 g samak rice

• 1 boiled potato

• 2 green chillies

• 1 tbsp roasted peanuts

• 1 tbsp desi ghee

• saindha salt to taste

Method

Boil the samak rice to get a regular cooked rice texture.

Boil potato and grate it well.

In a mixing bowl, add cooked samak rice, grated potato, chopped green chilli, roasted peanuts, saindha salt to taste then mix it well and make a dough.

Now make equal-sized patties and keep aside.

Heat a roasting pan and spread little ghee. Place the patties on it and roast well from both sides till it gets a nice golden, crispy texture.

The patties are ready to eat.

Serve them hot with spicy guava salsa.
