Amritsari Fish Tikka Recipe
Ingredients
First marination
• 500 g fish fillet, sliced
• salt to taste
• 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
• juice of 1/2 a lemon
• 1 tbsp mustard oil
• 1 tsp kasuri methi, crushed
• 1/4 tsp asafoetida
Second marination
• 1 tsp degi mirch powder
• 2 tbsp yogurt
• 1 tbsp rice flour
• 2 tbsp gram flour
• 1/2 tsp carom seeds
• oil for frying
• 1/2 tbsp mustard oil for fish tikka
For garnish
• onion rings
• lemon wedge
• coriander sprig
Method
First marination
In a mixing bowl, add sliced fish, salt to taste, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, mustard oil, kasuri methi, asafoetida, mix everything well and keep it aside for 10 minutes.
Second marination
In the same bowl, add degi mirch powder, yogurt, rice flour, gram flour, carom seeds, mix everything well and set aside.
Heat oil in a kadhai, once hot, deep-fry marinated fish till nicely done.
For Fish Tikka Satay
Heat oil in a grill pan, skewer the marinated fish on a satay stick and grill nicely till crisp and golden.
Drain and place on absorbent paper.
Garnish with onion rings, lemon wedge and coriander sprig.
