Ziya
Ziya
The Oberoi, with its sweeping views of the Arabian Sea and the Queen's Necklace, its pristine white halls and that gleaming red piano in its lobby is one of our favourite places to be, just be, in the moment. Then when you bring Ziya into the picture, with its award-winning contemporary Indian fare, Oberoi becomes one of our choicest hotels for its dining options, too.
Opened in 2010 by the Michelin-starred, London-based, eclectically-styled Chef Vineet Bhatia – our former cover boy – Ziya has continued to remain among the city's top Indian restaurants, among the top high-end dining establishments, for its traditionally-rooted cuisine with a twist.
Within the neat and clean, golden-hued interiors of Ziya, and that signature glass-walled open kitchen, choose from the varied a la carte selections or make it easier on yourself with the tasting menus. Make sure you ask for wine recommendations, sommeliers from their Enoteca will be with at your service. But do sample the Kokum Sorbet as you begin, a soothing start. Ziya Impressions offer you dishes such as Pumpkin Poppy Kebab, Grilled Garlic Chutney Paneer and the Charcoal Edamame Samosa with Chilli Prawns and Sambhar Aioli. The Malai Kashmiri Chilli Lobster, Lamb Shank with Caramelised Onions and Sukhi Chana Dal are sumptuosness served on your plate at Ziya. The Jaituni Biryani is another must-have, simple in its olive infusion. Round it off with the famed Chocomosa with Kapi Shrikhand and the Paan Kulfi with Paan Rabdi and Mukhwas Granola.
A meal for two is approximately Rs 4500 + taxes.
