 Farzana contractor, UpperCrust, The Market

The first thing that will catch your eye as you sit by the window side of this all-day international eatery is the view of the Dubai Canal, the waterfall and a barge passing by, all illuminated in iridescence. Dinner is a beautiful time at The Market, but then so is breakfast when all the hotel’s guests flock to the buffet counters and live stations for their nutritious start to the day. Well, nutritious enough, for we stacked up on waffles and Danishes to go with our black coffee. At The Market, you pick what you want and the chefs ensure you get the freshest and most seasonal fare as you go about it.

Brunch is in effect the most highly sought after here – four-time winner of the Best Family Brunch – but we were not partakers, hence we will leave it to you to try and write in to us, dear Dubai diner. At The Market, Innocent Drinks like the Sunrise Side and the Appletini await, cocktails, wines and spirits alike. Pastas like the Arabiata with black olives makes a filling meal for one and the grilled lobster with a side of veggies just as much.

The dessert spread offers squares of red velvet cheese cake, blueberry cheese cake, chocolate tarts, puddings and other little Continental delights.

Get off at The Island at The Market, from 7 pm – 10.30 pm on Saturdays for a strictly seafood affair, done the way your taste buds desire. Arabic, Indian, Asian or sushi, along with grilled options and raw bar selections. The space is always buzzing, given that it’s the go-to for all-day meals and the views of the canal, we reiterate, are worth the jaunt to The Market.
