How do you maintain your sensational body?
By eating right and exercising, I spend time on the treadmill, I swim every other day, I do gym work at home. But more than that, I'm a careful eater.
Why are you nibbling on your salad?
Because I want to lose weight... desperately! I'm always on a diet, but it's strange, people think I'm skinny! I weigh 58.5 kg. I'd like to be skinny.
What diet are you on now?
I don't starve myself. Those are the worse kinds of diets. I eat the right kind of food. I stick to nice wholesome salads, juices, soups, steamed foods like fish and chicken...
What do you start your day with?
Black tea with tulsi leaves, jaggery, ginger, it's good for me. But if you're asking about breakfast, then I have fruit juice and ten soaked badams. Half an hour later, a cup of tea, two biscuits or some toast.
That's all?
Yes, and no lunch. I don't eat. I like to keep myself light. May be a plate of fruit, some juice, but I munch on baked and roasted snacks. If I'm really hungry, I have a soup. My main meal is at 7 p.m. It could be a fillet of steamed fish. Or steamed chicken breast with brocolli and spinach. No hearty Punjabi food.
Do you cook?
I make the best gulab jamuns in the world, my brother, who is a big critic, says so. These are handmade, not your packet variety. I also cook when I want to suggest to my family that it's time they took me out!
Do you entertain at home?
Yes, most of my friends are vegetarian, so I prepare a typical Punjabi vegetarian meal for them. Sarson ka Saag and Makkai di Roti, some Punjabi Dal, Palak Paneer, Baingan Bhartha, Vegetable Pulao, the versatile Raita. I supervise the menu.

What's the most exotic food you've eaten?
Octopus in a Bangkok restaurant. Also octopus wafers.
