Yauatcha
Yauatcha
Dim Sums in Bombay are synonymous with Yauatcha, and the other way around as well. This exquisite Michelin-starred Chinese eatery revolutionised the cuisine for us chow lovers looking for the real deal, with the works.
A one-of-a-kind Dim sum teahouse, that’s Yauatcha, imported from UK and now in Bangalore, Calcutta and Riyadh. Bombayites celebrate the fact that the BKC standalone has stayed well-entrenched since 2011, where the food is expressed so passionately in an ambience that is akin to a Hong Kong chatter shop with soft lighting accentuated by handmade Scottish ceramic lamps. Entering Yauatcha is like entering an old Chinese teahouse, if you've ever visited one. You must!
When traditional methods of cooking are adhered to, the result is a Cantonese spread with a contemporary flair – subtle yet thrilling – with no compromise on ingredients. Yauatcha’s all-day dining menu offers a large selection of Dim sums, obviously. We’re talking over 50 types from the standard specialities like Shui Mai and Cheung Fun to the more creative offerings like the Crispy Duck Roll and the Vegetable Chive Dumplings. Apart, you also have a selection of soups, salads and wok preparations, and stir-fries such as the French Beans with Shiitake Mushroom and the Ramen Noodle.
Chinese, Indian, Japanese and Taiwanese teas comprise the tea menu at Yauatcha. The Classical Beauty and the simple Mint Tea are among the milieu, to sip on. Iced teas like the Nara and alcoholic beverages such as the Lemonberry Martini are noteworthy beverages that will only enhance your meal here.
The teahouse is also known for its European desserts inclusive of handmade petite gateaux and macarons available both a la carte and retail. Holiday specials like the Gianduja and the Egg Nog macarons are to die for. But leave not this fine-dine without a taste of the Chocolate Pebble and Raspberry & Chocolate Delice, just as divine to look at as to indulge in. Vegetarians expecting egg-free versions will be well-taken care of.
