After a three-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the legendary Mughlai restaurant of InterCon’s dining repertoire opened its doors. New interiors with the darbar feel and those sea-facing views intact, of muted blues and greys, with live ghazal performances to carry you through your meal of classics and contemporaries both, comprise Kebab Korner 2022.

It’s more for the nostalgic experience above all that one would choose KK. We enjoyed the music while the night was a languorous one and conversation flowed on. The recipes continue to be part of a heritage that old-timers would be well aware of with the kebabs always the star. But our choicest one yet was AWOL and we hope it's back on the menu soon. Yes, the famed Busybee Kebab and the galouti kebabs on sheermal are what we’re talking about. Yet, Tandoori Norwegian Salmon and dal makhani were in place, the latter not as luscious as we recall. Aassorted baby kulchas and the 36-spice yogurt-based dip with papads are flavourful. The Zaffrani Malai Tikka and Lehsooni Palak are done well, best eaten with a tandoor roti while Niyazi Gosht Biryani is served with purdah-style craft. Finish off with a Motichoor Rabdi Parfait, to share.
