Stirring up decadent cocktails and dishing out delectable meals is Lord of the Drinks' new outpost at Victoria Mills, Bombay. After becoming a favourite in Delhi, Poona and Bombay, the lounge has arrived at a new location in Lower Parel, the area which has become the new party hub of town.

Lord of the Drinks is a popular name among youngsters, party lovers, foodies and those looking to have a good time. Their new lounge in Lower Parel has already attracted attention and crowds, not just due to the popularity of their other outposts but for all the new and exciting elements it brings to Bombay. The buzz was generated even before the opening night, when the mixologist put up a spectacular show of a Ju00e1gerbomb domino. An awestruck silence ensued as Ju00e1germeister shot glasses dropped into the Red Bull filled bigger glass lined across a very long bar table, with clinking that could be heard for minutes as LOTD introduced the longest island bar in Asia. The party just got started.

As you enter through the massive doors of Lord of the Drinks, you are greeted by a vast space with rustic ambience, enhanced with exposed ceiling and leather seating. What grabs your attention first is the great length to which the island bar stretches. Suspended lightbulbs parallel to the entire length of the bar bring focus on how expansive the bar is– 200 ft precisely. In contrast with the rustic vibe of the place are the eclectic black and white striped walls and the colour pop of the bar.

Lured by the bright colours and a tempting display of alcohol on the suspended shelves, we walk right up to the bar, ready to be intoxicated with their offerings. Head Mixologist Maheswar Panigrahi, fondly called Mahesh, recommends the Melon Twist, one of his signatures, for our preference of sweet cocktails. He served the vodka-based watermelon and passion fruit drink with a spectacular addition of cinnamon smoke, getting us excited already. As we enjoy our first drink, Mahesh suggests a cocktail that thrills the Harry Potter fan in us. Right out of the magical world, LOTD houses their interpretation of the favourite drink of the wizards– Butterbeer! With vanilla vodka and Bourbon whisky to create the spell and hints of caramel syrup and apple juice for the magical touch, this chilled, frothy, beer-topped drink met all expectations. We loved Mahesh's wizardry.

Steps in Tushar Nakte, assistant mixologist, with a recommendation for the LOTD Long Island Iced Tea. The cocktail built up with five spirits comes with a tropical twist here, with an addition of fruits, topped with mulled wine. Tipsy as we may be already, Tushar insists that we also try the Cucumber Sour, another signature cocktail that the duo shakes up for us. The cool sweet 'n sour drink with a hint of thyme served in a salt-rimmed dainty stem glass proved that they are indeed the lords of the drinks. All these cocktails surely do build an appetite for the global cuisine served at LOTD. The choices are vast, the cuisine is elaborate, the portions are generous and the flavours, delicious.

We start with our favourite Four Cheese Margherita, a spicy crisp-based pizza that we completely drooled over. We also try the bruchettas, which definitely lived up to the recommendations. The Chicken-65 Fries have definitely made it to our list of favourites as we couldn't get enough of the hot-sauce laden crisp fried chicken with a curry-leaf mayonnaise. An impressive global-fusion!

For the mains, we go for the highly recommended Butter Chicken served with a Chilli Garlic Naan. Chef Sagar Bajaj recommended it to us, and we recommend it to you– do try the Pepper Pistachio Mutton Kadhai. Packing a punch, the unique combination of flavours result in a delicious mutton curry served with hot and flaky malabar paratha. Irresistible, as the entire menu here is, we also order the Penne Alfredo, an Italian accompaniment to our Indian main fare.

Completing the sumptuous experience are the desserts, proving that they aren't lords of just drinks, but everything that makes an evening out worth remembering. The Nutty Brownie Brownie, an all time favourite, did the same for us.

We also take some time to explore the complete expanse of the space which hosts not just LOTD but two other restaurants, all helmed by prolific restaurateur Priyank Sukhija. Rocky Star, rocking one end, is a chic and attractive cocktail bar by celebrated designer Rocky S, an attractive den with a mid-century vibe. Plum, in collaboration with Bent Chair, an interior e-tailer brand, runs parallel to LOTD separated by a glass wall. The cafe has a fun concept where anything you see is available for sale, including the crockery, furniture and wall art, apart from the delectable baos, Dim sums and Nutella Sushi on the essentially Asian menu.

At the end of our evening, we couldn't wait to get back home and start Instagraming about the exiting new lounge we had been to. That's what Lord of the Drinks had become just a few days after its opening– the talk of the town. Making news as the longest bar in Asia, it surely promises that one won't have to wait long for their drink orders to arrive despite the buzzing crowds of happy revellers. Cheers! Bombay.
