One Asia

MOst Indoreans when in the mood for some Chinese food head for one of the two best places in town. One Asia is one of them. Situated at the lobby level at Marriott, tucked into the side, the ambience is just right. Semi-dark and inviting. The service is perfect, even a bit enthusiastic perhaps because the servers are all so young. Love the way they served the jasmine tea; from brass kettles with a mile-long spout!

The food itself is enterprising. The first course came bedecked with flowers surrounding the Crabmeat and Asparagus Soup bowl. The Truffle-scented Edamame Dim sum sets the tone. It has to be among the best one has eaten. The trick was in keeping the edamame coarsely ground. It was a rather satisfying dinner: Lemon Grass Chilli Fish, Black Pepper Garlic Chicken, followed by the most tender and succulent New Zealand Lamb Chops with Togarashi Sauce. The wine list is impressive and the trolley laden with the wine bottles right next to you is very enticing.
