The Oterra’s Asian restaurant has opened at a new location in the hotel, creating a fresh vibrancy, both in the setting and the menu. Open for dinner only, this elegantly appointed rooftop space affords a view of Electronics City by night. The buzz of live stations, aOterra Hotel singer crooning at one end and a cocktail trolley that does the rounds set the mood here.

The Chef de Cuisine is the immensely talented and committed Tenzin Dolma. Star dishes on the menu include a simple, clear soup with wontons to begin with, perfectly executed Dim sum, with xiao long bao, a technique-intense dumpling, making an appearance as well.

Sushi and sashimi are new additions to the menu and the Unagi Sushi, the eel glazed with sweetness, and Tuna Sashimi, are flawless.

Satays come on a mini grill; prawn, chicken and the most tender and flavour-packed beef served with a peanut sauce.

For main courses, there’s seabass, gently steamed and served with nam pla prik, and stir-fried morning glory.

The Peking-Style Roast Duck is served classic style, with hoisin sauce, freshly made pancakes, scallions and cucumber. The duck is some of the best you’ll eat in the city. The Teriyaki Tenderloin, slices of beef, tossed with scallion, is excellent. Round it all off with Sticky Rice with Mango.
