This up and coming joint on the unofficial new food strip of the city, SBR, has the best chicken steak in town. Eating steaks never did catch on in the city, until Parosa chef Sachin Chand, decided to include it in his menu. And boy did it work out for everyone involved, especially the carnivores of Ahmedabad.

Founded by him and his long-time friends and business associates Rakesh Bhagarwal, Parteek Bhavsar, and Rohit Sharma, Parosa is truly a one-of-its-kind restaurant in the budding metro that is Ahmedabad. With dishes like the Piri Piri Chicken Steak on the menu, a truly western preparation made by a truly Indian chef, fireworks were inevitable. The chicken steak is stuffed with spinach, bell peppers, olives, jalapenos, gherkin, and mozzarella cheese, then peppered with the classic piri piri seasoning before being grilled to perfection, and served alongside a healthy serving of mashed potatoes. Adding balance to the steak is aglio pasta cooked with farm-fresh Italian seasonings, olive oil, and gently sautéed zucchini, broccoli, carrots, and baby corn. And, that is only a glimpse of the wonders Parosa has lined up in the kitchen.

For example, following the steak, was a Macaroni Chicken Burger, where the buns are made entirely out of macaroni noodles. That’s right! It tastes just as awesome as it sounds too. Chef Chand explained that he got the idea for the macaroni bun while working in the kitchen of a world-famous hotel. Here,  the chef and his team were required to make tarts out of macaroni noodles and the idea stuck with him. Cooking really is an art, as they say. Top it off with yet another stroke of genius, the Baked Fried Cheesecake, and your palate is satiated. Who could’ve imagined that a baked cheesecake could be made better by deep-frying it? Chef Chand, that’s who.

The real ace in the hole, however, are the completely marinated birds that are made at Parosa, only by pre-order of course, because it takes them around ten hours to prepare it. One can choose from Piri-Piri, Italian, and Arabic flavours to marinate the bird in. In all honesty, it is probably the foremost reason for their instant success. Well, that and the signature chicken steaks that upped the entire non-veg game in the city to a completely new level.
