Daddy

Daddy adds to the buzz of Indira Nagar. It’s a vast space on 12th Main, spread over two levels, one of them an open air rooftop. Downstairs, the décor is a play of kitsch and bling, with floral wallpaper, chandeliers and a line-up of Michelangelo’s David statues. The flipping bar is a novelty here. The al fresco space has a breezy, relaxed feel to it, with gazebos surrounded by gauzy white drapes.

There’s a massive bar here with several drinks being attractively priced – beer starts at Rs.135 – and one on one offers. The cocktail list is long too, and there are several innovative concoctions being served.
The food menu is long, catering to every taste. There are 20-plus pizzas alone and as many versions of wings done in various sauces – from tandoori wings to tom yum wings. You can nibble on Crispy Zucchini Fries and Eggplant Chips, tempura-like sticks, served with garlic mayo. Or, Asparagus Methi Kulcha, which are mini breads stuffed with greens and creamy cheese.

Among the small plates, there’s a juicy Pork Gyoza from an extensive array of dumplings and other Oriental favourites. The Chutney Chicken Seekh is a crowd pleaser and so are the Magic Prawns, fresh prawns in a butter garlic sauce. If you want a hearty meal, there are tiffin boxes to choose from – such as the Bombay Gosht Tiffin which includes pulao rice, meat and potatoes.

Daddy, from the Delhi-based First Fiddle Restaurants, is a space that spells fun and is ideal for after-work drinks or even date nights. It’s the group’s first foray into Bangalore and more offerings are in the making.
