The Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards

The 9th Edition of The Indian Wine Consumer’s Choice Awards by All Things Nice was held at Sofitel Mumbai BKC on 18th January 2020. This annual wine competition brought together wine consumers, connoiseurs and all wine enthusiasts, giving them a platform to express their opinion on their favourite wines.

With an aim to give Indian consumers an opportunity to judge for themselves and on behalf of other consumers the best wines produced in India and also international wines imported in the country, CEO of All Things Nice Nikhil Agarwal conceptualised this annual accreditation. The event lets consumers acknowledge and celebrate new vintages and new wines launched in the market, as well as provide insight to wineries about their inclinations.

At this event, all domestically produced wines, as well as international wines were categorised into a systematic blind tasting done by wine enthusiasts who were invited to register themselves and judge the wines based on their quality alone, revealing an independent list of finest wines available in India by the very people who drink them.

The blind tasting ensured an unbiased judging as consumers taste the wines completely unaware of the brand name or price point thereby allowing a judgment based purely on the quality of the wine itself. The only information provided to the consumers was the grape varietal and country.

About 100 wine lovers from across the country came over to Sofitel BKC for the competition where over 200 wines were entered into the competition for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
