Healthy Food for 6-9 Months Old Baby

Recipes by Chef Bhairav

When food is first introduced to a baby, preferably after six months of age, it should be colourful. Offer some easy-to-digest, nutrient-rich fruits that are available abundantly in nature. Since your baby may not have teeth at that time, these fruits can be offered in the form of purees. When I was a young, we didn’t have a juicer or grinder at home. My mother used to make fruit purees for me by grating the fruits very finely.

Papaya Puree
Selecting a good papaya is easy. Choose one that is starting to ripen, by turning from green to yellow. It should be a little soft, but not spongy. Peel and grate the papaya pulp or blend until smooth and serve.

Musk Melon Puree
Select a ripen musk melon. Rinse the musk melon before removing the peel. Grate or blend the pulp and serve.

Mango Puree
When making mango puree, choose soft and ripe mangoes. Wash them thoroughly and remove the peel. Grate or blend the pulp to a smooth consistency. Serve the puree.

Chikoo Puree
Wash the chikoo and wipe it dry. Peel the skin and grate or blend the pulp. Puree is ready to serve.

Ramphal Puree
Wash the fruit and remove the pulp in a bowl. Carefully remove the seeds. Blend the pulp until smooth. Serve the puree.
