Bombay Buzz: Seeds of Life
Bombay Buzz: Seeds of Life
Pali Hill is sporting a new green café and it’s lit! It’s cosy and quaint in elegantly minimal interiors with a range of foods from thin-crust pizzas to zucchini noodle pastas (we still haven’t come round to the term “zoodles”), smoothies and wraps, salads, desserts and what have you. Seeds of Life is founded by a meat-eater-turned-vegan, Mohit Bulchandani, is all green with something for every vegetarian out there, gluten-free options, of course.
A Time ‘Oat’ and an Acai Smoothie Bowl start the day, with almond milk across the board. Meal time calls for a Classic Melt, of sautéed spinach, pepper and vegan cheese and a SOL Extravaganza Wrap for paneer lovers like us, abundant with a range of veggies. Yes, all-milk paneer! Green Pizza is a must, earning its name from the avocado, pesto, zucchini and capsicum it offers, laid out on an amaranth base; the Mushroom Stroganoff with vegan sauce, vegetable quinoa or herb rice is another. Vegan ice-creams come in three flavours but our eyes are set on the Banana Chocolate Bread combining two of our favourite ingredients. A few smoothies are up for grabs, too, like the Popeye, with spinach, moringa, banana and almond milk – to which we’re not quite sure how our favourite sailor would react.
