Bhapa Chawli
Ingredients
• 250 g fresh chawli (black eyed pea pods)
• 2 cups water
• 1 tsp Himalayan salt or to taste

Wash the fresh chawli 3 or 4 times in water. Make sure there is no dust/mud in the pods.
Now take a mixing bowl, add the pods and salt and give it a nice mix.
Add water.
Soak the pods for 15 to 20 minutes in the salt water.
Take a steamer basket and place the soaked pods, pour salt water in and steam.
Steam for 15 to 20 minutes, until the pods becomes slightly soft.
Open the lid and slightly press the pods and check if the seeds are coming out very easily. If yes, then it cooked perfectly.
Serve hot. Steamed chawli is a very good snack which can be served at tea time.
Note
Cooked black eyed pea pods stay good for 1 day at room temperature.
