Soaked Dry Fruit Delight
Ingredients:
• 5 badam (almonds)
• 2 anjeer (dried figs)
• 5 dried black raisins
• 5 dried green rainins
• 2 sookhi khajur (dried dates)
• 5 kali mirch (black peppercorns)
• 100 ml water
Method
Wash ingredients and soak in water overnight (minimum 8 hours) in a glass bowl.
Remove the almond skin.
Then remove the eye and seed from the dried dates.
Eat all the soaked dry fruits for breakfast.
Healthy tips
Chew well, do not swallow the dry fruits.
Do not use any metal bowl for soaking.
Preferrably use glass, porcelain or ceramic bowls.
Heat a kadhai, add oil and
fry peanuts on low flame
until they turn crunchy.
Remove from the kadhai
and set aside.
In the same oil, splutter
some cumin seeds, hing
and curry leaves.
Add chopped onion,
chopped green chilli and
sauté well.
Now add turmeric powder,
again sauté well.
Add the soaked poha and
combine gently.
Cover and simmer for 2-3
minutes until the flavours
are absorbed.
Transfer to a serving
plate and garnish with
fried peanuts and fresh
coriander leaves.
Add some freshly squeezed
lemon juice.
Serve hot.
