ITC Gardenia, home to some excellent restaurants, has added one more. Ottimo, which was at lobby level, has made way for Cajsa, a restaurant that sets out to showcase dishes and flavours from across the globe, reimagined and reinvented for the discerning diner here.
Cajsa has its origins in the Greek word for ‘pure’ and is built around the ethos of simplicity. In keeping with this, the space is lighter, brighter and more open than before. Globally-inspired artwork provides an attractive backdrop to this minimalist space. The live kitchen allows guests to witness the culinary team at work.
When you dine at Cajsa, you take your pick from 7, 9 or 11-course tasting menus. Portions are small and beautifully crafted, allowing you to enjoy the indulgence that is this meal. Some of the star dishes on the current menus includes Zen Tomato, a combination of avocado, shallots, tomatoes and Mozzarella drizzled with a white onion dressing; Ricotta Raviolo, made with rich black truffle; and Water Chestnut & Halloumi Pithivier, crafted from British puff pastry teamed with Cypriot cheese and artichoke.
The Hickory Smoked Farm-raised Chicken is a winner of a dish, with juicy meat and a waft of smokiness, all rounded off with a classic French bearnaise. Also drawing inspiration from the French kitchen’s Coq au Vin is the Cajsa Crockpot, chicken with clementine, Cointreau and Ricotta.
A selection of cocktails complements this menu, and staff will suggest pairings if you so wish.
