Poona’s dining scene has no shortage of Asian restaurants, but few capture the chaotic charm, sensory overload, and easy spontaneity of a real Southeast Asian street. With the launch of Izipizi Street in Kalyani Nagar, Together Hospitality attempts to change that, creating a space that feels less like a restaurant and more like stepping into a lively night market somewhere between Bangkok, Seoul, Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh city.

Created by founders Karan Khilnani, Karan Kulkarni, Vijeta Singh, Chef Hanoze Shroff and team, Izipizi Street draws heavily from their travels across Southeast Asia. The idea was simple: recreate the energy of the streets they kept returning to – the smoky grills, neon-lit corners, bustling food stalls, comforting bowls of noodles and the joy of eating without ceremony.

This energy is reflected in every corner of the space, the restaurant unfolds like a layered street scene, where one section visually spills into another. Different zones take inspiration from various Southeast Asian countries, creating the feeling of wandering through interconnected alleys rather than sitting in a conventional dining room.

The food experience is divided into multiple hawker-style concepts including Moto Moto Sushi, The Serious Robata Guy, Izi Dimsum Station, Pizi Noodle Bar, Kuri Kaw Kaw, Black Bear Boba and Tama Goro Café. There’s also Everyday Mart and Same Same Shop, retail extensions inspired by Asian convenience and knick knack stores.

The beverage programme, curated by celebrated mixologist Arijit Bose, mirrors the same philosophy. With younger audiences leaning towards mindful drinking, the menu goes beyond cocktails to include soju and sake-forward Highballs, alongside an extensive non-alcoholic offering featuring matcha, boba teas, Vietnamese phin coffee, smoothies, and coolers.

One of the biggest talking points, however, is Song Room – Poona’s first dedicated Korean-style karaoke bar. Tucked within the larger restaurant, the glass-walled private space accommodates up to 20 guests, bringing a playful after-hours energy to the experience.

What makes Izipizi Street stand out is that it doesn’t try too hard to be polished. Instead, it embraces the movement, noise, steam, and unpredictability that make Asian street culture so addictive in the first place. It’s the kind of place where a quick meal easily turns into an entire evening.
