During the monsoons, I simply crave warm and comforting foods like cinnamon buns, French toast and warm cake with ice- cream! As kids we would drink bone broth every single day for dinner. But that was then, though the memory lingers…
I am an absolute street food junkie, so vada pav and pakoras are my absolute favourites.
I've curated some recipes for UpperCrust that have a bit of nostalgia because I feel that’s the best way to truly enjoy baking. Cinnamon is my favourite spice to use and I use it generously in my recipes. The cakes and madeleines are fantastic with evening tea or coffee, and just the rains outside!
I usually settle down to do some rain-watching with any kind of warm bread with loads of butter and some cinnamon powder to dust on it. With some coffee or masala chai.
A few trips to my friend's farmhouse in Karjat has been the ritual for years. Everything… from the drive to the greenery around the house is so soothing. My very soul feels refreshed.
