China Garden
China Garden
When you think of old-timers in the city that have stood the test of time well, you think of China Garden: first at its Kemps Corner location for decades, and the other in Khar, also around the country and Nepal, too. The original has always been like home for us, a hotspot that attracted the who’s who of Bollywood and sometimes, Hollywood, too. Remember Goldie Hawn strutting her golden locks for all to put down their chopsticks and stare. Nelson Wang gave Bombay a much-needed Chinese fine-dine at a time of austerity and his son, Edward Wang is carrying forward the torch with pride.
Now let’s talk chow at China Garden. From over 300 original recipes, the menu brings forth dishes like Gin Chicken, Prawn Autumn Rolls, Stuffed Bean Curd, Crabmeat & Coriander Soup. The spare ribs, crispy duck and the crispy lamb are a must when dining at the Garden and the Soya Wine Fish, of course. Vegetarians can indulge in the Fried Corn Cream and the Crispy Lotus Stem in Honey Chilli Garlic.
You can’t leave China Garden without a taste of the Honey Noodles with ice-cream. Make sure you take your fortune cookie with you, too.
