Lord of the Drinks
So, we’re excited about the TV series of the LOTR franchise – The Rings of Power – and therefore decided to head to LOTD to celebrate. Couldn’t help draw the parallel with this restaurant/pub that’s been a big draw for the young ‘uns in the city – literally big for its massive space measuring up to 13, 800 sq. ft. and featuring Asia’s longest bar at a staggering 200 ft. This is at the Kamala Mills outlet, the other being Powai and Andheri – apart from several city-wide locations.
Everything is larger than life at LOTD, taking from the vision of restaurateur, Priyank Sukhija, who wants you to lose yourself in a space unlike any other. There’s an air of eccentricity to the medieval era décor and a very lounge-like feel but families can lunch just as casually in the restaurant-like space, all in one. The food at LOTD is not LOTR-inspired, but GOT! That’s Game of Thrones, folks! You have Beer Chicken Chips, Jalapeno Fire Balls, Chicken Tikka Trilogy and a mixed lot of hearty, wholesome fare which varies from the Asian Yellow Curry, Malinga Podi Fish to the Mutton Rezala, pizzas, pastas, shawarma, soups and salads, wraps and rolls. You have to go big for dessert with the Lords ka Meetha of ice jalebi, sizzling gajar halwa and marshmallows.
Yes, the drinks at LOTD come first, which is where Mary gets a jhatka and a Blind Date awaits. Names of signature drinks from the beverage menu will make you want to try them all. And do if you so wish, for LOTD is where you live it large.
