Dubai Dining: An Exquisite Affair

Undeniably, Dubai is on every food lover’s checklist. And each time, it’s something new. Feast on these prized culinary addresses we’ve chalked out, from Avatara to Atlantis, The Palm & Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City

The voluptuous emirate was on our radar when Diwali vacations were being planned and when it’s just a two-and-a-half-hour flight away from Bombay, it makes it all the more attractive. Dubai is luxuriant, bustling, a melting pot, an oasis that draws anyone in search of a taste away from home or flavours of the Middle East. For a tourist, there is a boundless amount of entertainment, architectural marvels – some pleasing to the eye, others less so – cultural sites, hotels and restaurants that run from local joints to seven-star resorts.

We soaked in the sights and sounds to the fullest, from the one-of-a-kind Dancing Fountains to the towering views of Burj Khalifa. From the futuristic new museum on Sheikh Zayed Road that reminds you of an episode of The Jetsons – Museum of the Future – to the inevitable Gold Souk, the Spice and Textile Souks follow. Miracle Garden in Dubailand – now here’s another treat for flora lovers. Walk into the world's largest natural flower garden, housing over 50 million flowers and 250 million plants, and fill your Insta feed with joy.

Last but certainly top of our list: the gastronomy of Dubai! It’s a display of the finest as we went along our culinary travails covering a select few high-end establishments such as Avatara, Ossiano, Bread Street Kitchen, World Cut Steakhouse, BQ and The Market.

Avatara is a serving by the group that has given us, Bombayites, Tresind. While one is modern Indian cuisine, the other is fine-dining vegetarian cuisine spread out in great detail through efficient service. 16 courses would call for that level of precision, without a doubt.

Precision with an air of grace and thorough expertise transforms you to a whole new world, at Ossiano, the seafood standalone at Atlantis, The Palm. Dine with the finned wonders of the world all around you, as you ride an 11-course wave. An impressionable diner at Atlantis could easily get floored by the enormity of it. While you decide, spend a good amount of time losing yourself in The Lost Chambers. Finding Nemo has never been easier! But it’s best to start your day at this 7-star uber-opulent resort with Bread Street Kitchen by the one and only, Hell’s Kitchen’s very own, Chef Gordon Ramsay. It’s all well-done at BSK where the food speaks for itself.

We’ve also got packed into this food basket a pleasant stay at a 5-star that holds prime place in Dubai for its mix of exquisite and smart casual, funky, too. Hilton took us dining across its three properties:

Hilton Dubai Al Habtoor City, V Hotel and Habtoor Palace Dubai. Three restaurants are thus presented, varied and inviting.

Take a look.

Next time around, we will bring you more from Dubai, perhaps some great places for shawarma or mandi – that traditional Arabic rice and meat dish. For now, feast your senses on this exquisite array.
